Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s ‘non-curtsy’ method of addressing the Queen at the RAAF Fair Bairn Base on the first day of her New Zealand tour, has turned a strong focus on social and business Etiquette.
To gain a professional insight, the ‘Hamilton Advertiser’ interviewed Karen Winfield – co-owner and professional skills trainer from a national provider of business etiquette training – Professional Development Training – was consulted by the Hamilton Advertiser (the Southern capital’s daily newspaper).
Karen of pdtraining was quoted as saying “…manners are evolving, and that modern etiquette requires adapting to your circumstances and companions rather than showering everyone with the same courtesies….”
Karen proposed that the prime minister may have chosen that path to appeal to the younger generation.
