Achieve goals that make you happy

There are many things that are important in your life. How do you take out time to excel in every aspect of your life? It seems almost impossible. You might even ask yourself “why do I need to excel? Am I not good enough?” The answer to this question lies in whether you are satisfied with your present personality or not. If you think that you would do better with more confidence or you lack assertiveness in important situations, then you need to consider working on changing your personality.

What’s Important to You?

To choose what you need to excel in to become more confident and satisfied, you must find out which achievements and failures impact your self-esteem and confidence the most. If, for example, your performance at work impacts your confidence to a large extent, then you need to use more resources to do better at work. If your kids, your home or your close relationships affect your confidence the most, then you may channel your energy towards that direction.

There is a connection between your wishes and needs, and your confidence. If you lack confidence, you need to find out why you are not confident. Once you have identified the reason, you will need to work towards it diligently.

Visualise Your Goal

Another way of identifying what is important to you is to visualise. Close your eyes and see yourself achieving what you really want to achieve. Make sure that it is something that you really want to attain in life. It can be a professional or a personal goal. In your mind, see yourself achieving that. How does it make you feel? Is it really that important to you? Or would you rather achieve some other goal of yours?

Make sure that you realise only one goal in your mind. You will automatically prioritise your long-term goals in this manner. The goal that you choose to realise in this exercise is the one that is most important to you.

Channelise Your Resources

Once you have determined the most important goal in your life, you must channelise your energy, time and money (or whatever is required to realise the goal) to fulfil it. You may have many important goals, but you need to prioritise and realise them one at a time. Therefore, concentrate on this one goal at present and work towards fulfilling it. After you have realised it, you may then move to the next most important goal.

When you begin to make progress in achieving your most important goal, you will see that you will grow more confident and self-satisfied. After you have achieved it, you will have made remarkable progress in your personality. After achieving this one goal, your journey towards self-improvement will already be easier.
